Day of Action: Veto Senate Bill 1
Ohio Democrats Day of Action
The Ohio Senate is expected concur on SB 1 on Wednesday, sending the bill to Governor DeWine's desk. This legislation is an attack on Ohioans’ freedom and future and has been called the “worst attack on collective bargaining" since 2011’s historically unpopular SB 5.
Ohioans deserve better than this attack on our future, and Ohio Democrats are urging Governor DeWine to do the right thing and veto this legislation.
Join us for a Day of Action on Thursday, March 27th where we will call Governor DeWine's office ALL DAY to demand him to Veto SB 1. While our Day of Action will occur on March 27th, we will encourage folks to keep calling DeWine’s office every day, showing him that the people want him to veto SB 1.
SB 1 bans faculty strikes, establishes post tenure reviews, and more. Instead of trusting our higher education professionals to do their jobs, the legislature would rather attack their ability to organize for a fair working environment.
This legislation will lead Ohio’s students, recent graduates, and potential employers to look elsewhere. Republicans could spend their time addressing our state’s real issues, but instead they decided to damage our state’s future over unproven theories.
