The Portage County Democratic Party Central Committee will hold a special meeting on May 18, 2023, at 6 p.m. at Independence of Portage County, Inc.

575 E. Lake St., Ravenna, OH 44266.

This is a public meeting for the purpose of (1) an appointment to the position of second vice chair for PCDP, (2) the appointment of Jason Mack to precinct committee position for Ravenna Township F, and (3) the appointment of an individual to the position of Portage County Engineer that was vacated by the retirement of Michael Marozzi effective May 12, 2023.

The appointment to the County Engineer position will be made in accordance with PCDP Constitution Article 4, Section 9 and Ohio Revised Code 305.02. Anyone interested in this appointment must be a registered professional engineer and a registered surveyor licensed to practice in the State of Ohio in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 315.02. 

Anyone interested in appointment to the County Engineer position shall submit a letter to Portage County Democratic Party Chair, Denise Smith, c/o PO Box 729, Ravenna, OH, 44266 postmarked no later than midnight May 13, 2023. This is a meeting open to the public. However, only Democratic Central Committee members are eligible to vote on these appointments.
